CHALLENGE AND SOLUTION
Isobetong® is tasked with insulating the area in Project BT-Chemical, where the ground is heated to evaporate the toxins and thus cleanse the soil of contaminants. The system is based on the unique thermal in situ method, IT-DSP, where the soil is heated to 300ºC using drilled heating wells. The contaminants are vaporized by the heat and are sucked up through extraction wells to be then handled in an advanced purification plant. You can read more about the method at geoserve.se.
Isobetong’s unique properties seal 100% tightly around the installations. In this way, heat leakage is minimized, the process is made more efficient, and energy consumption is reduced.
The density delivered for the project is 200 kg/m3 because it has an excellent insulating ability combined with high strength. The volume amounted to about 1800 cubic meters and was carried out in two stages.
